Grandville Education Support Staff Association

Back To Basics

As an education professional, it is your right to protect, advocate, and advance the rights of all education professionals to promote quality public education for all students. Your union can support you in many ways, including providing benefits, forms, handbooks, training, facilities, transportation, and meeting space. You can also count on your union to fight for your rights in the workplace and the legislature. When you join other education professionals in a union, you have a powerful voice to demand the resources and support needed to provide a high-quality education for all students.

Mission

To protect, advocate, and advance the rights of educational support staff and education professionals to promote quality public education for all students.

Strategic Plan

GESSA’s Strategic Plan lays out specific directions and outcomes to guide our work as a union in accomplishing our mission.

Who We Are

The Grandville Education Support Staff Association (GESSA) is a self-governing education association representing educational support staff throughout the Grandville school district, Transportation, Grounds, Maintenance and Custodial.

GESSA is affiliated with the Michigan Education Association (MEA) headquartered in East Lansing and the National Education Association.

Since our beginning, we have worked together to win and protect fundamental rights for educators and support staff. These rights help ensure you are treated respectfully, fairly, and with dignity.

Through collective action, GESSA is dedicated to serving our members through achieving employment goals and securing the interests and needs of educational support staff by advocating for quality public education.
